Formed by Simon Neil of Scotland's monster rock act Biffy Clyro and Mike Venant, former frontman of Oceansize and now a touring member of Biffy Clyro, EMPIRE STATE BASTARD is the latest in a long line of alternative metal projects that includes Slayer, Testament, Deadcross, and many more. The band is now complete with Dave Lombardo and Naomi McLeod (Bitch Falcon), who have worked on countless projects including Slayer, Testament, Dead Cross, and more, and is now ready to give birth to Jet Black! The long-awaited debut album "RIVERS OF HERESY" is now completed! Roadrunner Records is proud to announce the birth of a new heavy music project.The name is "EMPIRE STATE BASTARD"! A new project formed 10 years ago by Simon Neill of Scotland's monster rock act Biffy Clyro and Mike Venant, former Oceansize frontman and now touring member of Biffy Clyro, Ten years ago, the two shared the backseat of a tour bus in search of the most radical, confrontational, and twisted music, but Simon always had it in the back of his mind that if he ever formed a sickeningly heavy band, he would name it Empire State Bastard, and he gave Mike the challenge of writing a song worthy of that name. The headline event held in conjunction with the release of the single was immediately sold out, and the band's next move drew much attention, and the release of their debut album was finally decided. The long-awaited album, "RIVERS OF HERESY.EMPIRE STATE BASTARD, influenced by the likes of Siege, Melvins, Mike Patton, and of course Slayer, knew they needed to find the best band members to create their ideal band, so they approached Dave Lombardo ( Slayer, Fantomas, Suicidal Tendencies) to join the band. The band was completed when Naomi Macleod of Bitch Falcon joined on bass. (1/2)
