He is a student of Tiberghien on piano, but he has also studied conducting under the tutelage of Blomstedt and others, and has been the assistant conductor of the Ensemble Intercontemporain since October 2023. He has also shown a talent for composition and has made many effective piano arrangements of orchestral masterpieces like those of the ancient masters. The debut album demonstrates the genius of both pianist and arranger, bringing together Fauré and the father of music, J.S. Bach, whose death this year (2025) marks the 100th anniversary of his death. Beginning with Faure's plaintive arrangement of "In Paradise" from his Requiem in Dulcinea, the two artists alternate in their deep insight into tonal, thematic, and sometimes magical music.
