Description:
Duo Works by an Unknown German Composer of Beethoven's Time Louis Massonneau [1766-1848] was a German violinist and composer of Beethoven's generation. He held concertmaster positions in various court orchestras and composed symphonies, operas, and chamber music. The Three Duo Concertantes for violin and cello were written by Massonneau for collaboration with the cellist Martin Calmes when they first met. It is music in the style of the Viennese Classical School, demanding virtuosity from the performers, but also rich in expression and lyricism. The performance is by the Baraldi brothers duo, Demian and Dylan, who were born in Trento, Northern Italy. Winners of numerous awards, they have been playing together since childhood and are in perfect harmony. In addition to Italy, they have performed in Austria, Germany, China, Norway, and the United States.
