Thundercat, and Marcus Gilmour, a young drummer who also plays in a trio with Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke, "Already There" will go down in history as an extremely important piece that shows the future of contemporary jazz."The Antidote" features Nye Palm, a core member of Hiatus Cayote, whose debut album was nominated for a Grammy Award, and who has received critical acclaim from heavyweights such as Erykah Badu, Giles Peterson, Questlove, and Shafiq Hussain, The "Decisions" track features Emily King, who was nominated for a Grammy for her debut album "East Side Story" at the age of just 22. Raiatto, also a member of Brainfeeder, showcases her beautiful voice on "A Place In My Heart. Invisible/Visible" features Taylor's father, jazz legend Bobby McFarlin, and Brazilian maestro Cesar Camargo Mariano. McFarlin's superb sense of balance is the key to this album, which features a diverse array of personalities from a variety of fields.Having shared the stage with Erykah Badu, The Roots, Nas, Talib Kweli, and Robert Glasper at venues such as the Apollo Theater, Blue Note, and Lincoln Center, he is not only a master at bringing out the talents of his guests, but he is also a master of his own neo-soulful, emotional voice. He not only excels at drawing out the talents of his guests, but also carefully weaves together a variety of musical elements to create this beautiful soundscape by showcasing his own emotionally stunning voice and giving the instrumental pieces as much presence as the vocal pieces.
