Ozzy Osbourne, one of the "Metal Gods." Upon disbanding Black Sabbath, he immediately launched his solo career, discovering legendary guitarists such as Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee, and Zakk Wylde, while continuing to produce masterpieces of heavy metal and hard rock. Although he was forced to suspend his activities after revealing his Parkinson’s disease in 2020, he overcame it and made a comeback in 2022 with the release of his new album, *Patient Number 9*. He initially announced his retirement due to a spinal injury, but in 2023, he declared he would resume his activities. However, he passed away suddenly following his farewell concert in 2025. Now, a rare live archive from Ozzy Osbourne’s 1983 is available!
Following Randy Rhoads’ accidental death in March 1982, auditions were held to find a new guitarist, and Jake E. Lee, formerly of Rat and Rough Cut, joined the band to begin recording. In December 1983, they released the album *Bark at the Moon*, and a 30-show European tour was held around the time of the album’s release. During this tour, Carmine Appice (!) joined the band on short notice following the departure of drummer Tommy Aldridge. With this even more powerful band in tow, Ozzy Osbourne’s concerts surpassed even those from his days with Randy Rhoads. During this tour, the band performed at a rock festival held in Dortmund, Germany, on December 17 and 18. Parts of this performance were recorded and broadcast for television and radio programs. This album is a live recording based on that broadcast, featuring seven songs, including encores and a drum solo.
With Carmine Appice joining the lineup, the band possessed the stature of a supergroup and delivered the greatest performance in Ozzy Osbourne’s history. Since Carmine Appice left the band immediately after the European tour concluded, this is an extremely rare CD release.
As bonus tracks, three songs broadcast by a local radio station from the concert held in Stockholm, Sweden, on December 6 of the same year have been added.
