Tower of Power has reigned as one of the top US funk/R&B bands for over 50 years. Formed in Oakland, California in 1968 by leader Emilio Castillo, the band emerged as an opening act for Jimi Hendrix and Creedence Clearwater Revival, and in 1972 signed with Warner Bros.
