Genesis overcame the second crisis with the departure of guitarist Steve Hackett, who had been an important factor in the progressive rock sound of Genesis, by continuing as a three-piece band without adding a new member. The band's musical style became a little less progressive rock, and by adding pop music elements, they gained a larger fan base and embarked on their first major world tour. The Chicago show on October 13 of the same year was recorded and broadcast for the popular American music program "KingBiscuit Flower Hour. This live album contains the complete set list of that day, including medleys and encores, and is almost the same set list as the first show in Japan after the North American tour.
