This new recording, "Mozart: The Complete Horn Concertos," fully demonstrates this appeal. The performance is of course excellent, but there are also some remarkable elements in the recorded works. The horn concerto K.412/514 (386b) is included not only in Jussmeier's version, but also in Levin's version. Also included is the first recording of the Andante Sostenuto, composed by Nino Rota for the second movement of this concerto. The inclusion of these works on a single disc is a significant milestone. This disc offers a brilliant performance by Dohr and a new look at the Mozart: Horn Concerto.
