Since its formation in 1974, the "Vienna String Soloists" has been attracting audiences around the world as the world's premier string ensemble, featuring the principal players of the world's most prestigious orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, right here in Vienna. Numerous concerts include tours of Japan, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France, and other countries, where the ensemble has collaborated with the world's greats such as Gidon Kremer, Josef Suk, Hermann Baumann, James Levine, and Mischa Maisky. The ensemble's repertoire includes not only the Vienna Waltz, but also all major string works from the Baroque to contemporary music, and is renowned for its elegant, soft, and bright sound.
