Sarah McKenzie's first new album in four years is a bossa nova work featuring such bossa nova classics as "Daughter of Ipanema," "Corcovado," "Gentle Rain," and "The Wave. "During a visit to Rio de Janeiro in 2018, Sarah stayed at Ipanema Beach, where she performed with Carlos Jobim and Vinicius de Morais sat at the bar in Veloso where he wrote "Daughter of Ipanema" and was in awe of the majesty of the beautiful Corcovado hills. She enjoyed a late night jam session with local musicians and was deeply moved by the warm and friendly character of the people and all the sights, sounds, smells, and vibrant colors of Rio de Janeiro, which led to this work. Sara's cool and refreshing voice is pleasant to the ear even when she sings bossa nova, and Peter Erskine and other talented musicians have gathered to create this ambitious work. This is her second album for Terashima Records, also released in a special Japanese jacket!
