The long-awaited first CD reissue of "Sambas & Bossas," a fantastic album by Brazil's leading songstress, Hoberta Sarr, from the beginning of her career! With her stylish sound and dainty voice, she sings the classics of samba and bossa nova, and it's just a wonderful piece of music! Sambas & Bossas" was recorded around the same time as her hit debut album "Braseiro" (2005), and was produced in response to a request from a company to make a samba and bossa nova record. As Hoberta says, "I had a lot of freedom in choosing songs, and I mixed classic samba and bossa nova with my repertoire of songs that were my favorites at the time," starting with the cartola "Alegria / O Sol Nascera" at the beginning, followed by "Chega de Saudade" that made João Gilberto known to the world, and then "Sambas & Bossas," which was a very popular song in those days. The selection includes "Alegria / O Sol Nascera," the opening track, "Chega de Saudade," which made João Gilberto famous, and even a song by Hodrigo Marañaon, who was just emerging at the time.It is not inferior to "Braseiro" at all in terms of its stylish sound and dainty voice, which presents samba classics, MPB classics, and composers of the same era. Although it was rarely released to the general public at the time, the album was so successful that there were constant requests for its re-release over the years. This will be the first CD reissue.
