Description:
Evangelion" is a four-part animated feature film. The first part, "Introduction," was released in theaters on September 1, 2007, and the second part, "Evangelion: 2.0," was released on June 27, 2009. This film "Q" is the third part of the series, which was originally titled "Kyuukyu" and is scheduled to be completed in the fourth part of the series. The "Introduction" and "Break" were produced by applying the images and story of "Neon Genesis Evangelion," which has been a social phenomenon since 1995 through its TV series and theatrical movies. However, not only were the settings, designs, and visual treatments updated, but also unique elements such as the new character Mari and the new EVA series were frequently introduced from "Breaking". Particularly in the latter half of the film and towards the end, the story veered far off course from the existing world of the film, indicating that "The New Movie" was a series with an intention different from that of a remake. In light of this, "Q" is finally a "new story" as a completely new film. Upon its release, "Q" broke the 2012 opening weekend record at the box office, surpassing "BRAVE HEARTS Umizaru" to become the overwhelming No. 1 film. As of now (2/18), it has grossed over 5.2 billion yen, far surpassing the 4 billion yen final box-office tally of "Break".The first production run will include the original soundtrack as a bonus. The theme song by Utada Hikaru will also be included. The BD/DVD will also include the film that was shown at the same time as the theatrical release of the film, "KYOSHINHEI TOKYO ni GENJINHEI (Giant Warrior): The Movie Version".
