Description:
Scholl's works are becoming increasingly popular for their exquisite combination of comforting melodies and harmonies, reassuring classical composition, and modern, exhilarating speed. The cello concerto features the winner of the Tchaikovsky Competition, Ahnazaryan, as the soloist, which is a major point of interest. The "Cello Concerto No. 2" was created during the pandemic of the new corona infection, and has a dark and uneasy atmosphere. In the first movement, the solo cello and orchestra engage in a constant dialogue, and in the second movement, the cello's melody is filled with sadness. In the final movement, the tense theme reappears and climaxes with a spectacular technical performance. The "Cello Concerto No. 3" is a work of lyricism and virtuosity typical of Scholl. The first movement is rhythmic and bright, the second movement is a heartfelt melody as if the cello were singing, and the third movement is energetic and thrilling. The "Humoresque" and "Two Songs for My Children" are warm pieces filled with fatherly affection.Humoresque" is light and nostalgic, "Mark's Lullaby" is gently enveloping music, and "Natalie's Waltz" is a joyful waltz about the birth of her daughter.
