The virtuoso Zipering performs "Baritone" with resonant strings! Ziperling, Natsumi Wakamatsu, and Hidemi Suzuki record Haydn's baritone trio! The baritone was a favorite instrument of Esterházy Duke Nikolaus. It is an instrument similar to the viola da gamba and is characterized by the fact that the resonant strings can be plucked at the back of the neck. Haydn left a large number of works that include this instrument, including at least 126 baritone trios with viola and cello by the mid-1770s. This album contains six of his works. The baritone trio is rarely played these days, but the virtuoso Rainer Zipperling performs the baritone trio. It is a great pleasure to record this album with Natsumi Wakamatsu and Hidemi Suzuki, who are the masters of the ancient music world, playing on the instruments Haydn envisioned.
