Lev Oborin's "Phantom Recordings in Japan" are now available on CD for the first time with detailed data! From the creator(Naoya Hirabayashi)In the fall of 1956, Lev Oborin visited Japan for the first time from the former Soviet Union and held studio sessions in between his performances throughout Japan. This LP was first released in 1956, and only Mussorgsky was re-released in 1959, but nothing has appeared since then. The recording data was also unknown, but now we have obtained the detailed data (date, technician's name, equipment used, piano used, etc.) and have reissued the recording in its complete form. Although Oborin is usually associated with accompanists, his authentic and rich musicality is highly appreciated by well-meaning piano fans. As one would expect from the winner of the first Chopin Competition, he is no mean feat. Please note that there is no master tape or copy tape of this recording, and this CD is a reissue from an LP.
