It is an album of great interest that shows his great growth as a composer and maturity as an artist! Born in Bali, Indonesia in 2003, the 19 year old was discovered by Wynton Marsalis (tp) in 2013 and released his debut album "My Favorite Things" in 2015, which was nominated for two Grammy Awards, including Best Jazz Instrumental Album at the youngest age of 12. nominations and has been steadily growing. He then made his major label debut with the Verve label in 2019, releasing the album Warna, and has now officially signed with MacAvenue, making him one of the most sought-after jazz pianists in the world today. The rhythm section features veteran drummer Larry Granadia (b), who has worked with Joey since his debut album and has a deep understanding of Joey's music, and contemporary jazz drummer Kendrick Scott (ds), who also played on the previous album "Warna". The ten tracks on this album are performed by Chris Potter, a saxophonist who is a versatile player, and Gilad Hekselman, a guitarist who is one of the best young guitarists in the world. The ten tracks include performances with guest players such as Chris Potter, as well as six piano trio formats to keep listeners engaged throughout. During the Corona Pandemic, when all live activity ceased, Joey reflected on the eight years since his debut and faced his inner self. His original songs, created with dreams of the eventual revival of the music scene, are a beacon of hope in the post-Corona era.
