[Nevermind’s Rising Star Brings Mozart’s Masterpieces to Life with Natural Expression] A new recording of Mozart’s flute quartets. While there are already numerous recordings featuring period instruments, this one stands apart from performances on modern instruments with its natural breathing and dynamic sound—rich in contrast—resulting in a deeply rewarding interpretation. Flutist Anna Besson, along with early music tenor and haut-contre singer Reynout van Mehelen, was one of the core members who founded *A Nocte* , and is an up-and-coming musician who continues to perform as a member of Nevermind alongside Louis Claeck, who plays violin on this album, and Jean Rondo on harpsichord. Viola player Manuela Büchel and cellist Ronan Kernoa are also accomplished musicians who have been at the forefront of the early music scene, primarily with Belgian ensembles such as La Petite Bande, Anima Eterna Bruges, and Les Muffatti. In addition to the four famous pieces, the album includes an arrangement for this ensemble of Piano Sonata No. 8 by Hofmeister—a music publisher and composer who was also a Freemason friend of Mozart’s. The meticulous interplay of sounds—which reveals just how surprisingly well-suited the work’s structure is to chamber music—comes to life with exceptional naturalness through the performance on period instruments.
