Jimin Oh-Havenit is known for the richness of sound and fidelity to the score that comes from a lucid touch, and in this collection of Brahms works, she avoids arbitrary tempi and intensity, creating clear and transparent interpretations. Born in Seoul, she studied with Jin-Woo Chung at Seoul National University and Alois Kontarsky at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne, and was active as a soloist, as well as in broadcasting, recording, and in a piano duo with her late husband Raimund Havenis. As an educator, she has taught younger students at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mainz and the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt. 2013 marks the beginning of a full-fledged solo career again, and she has released 11 solo CDs to date.
