Description:
Lorre, who lived from the end of the Baroque period to the dawn of the Classical period, is relatively well known for his vocal works, including religious music such as oratorios and Passions, and operas. On the other hand, there are very few recordings of his instrumental works, so this album is particularly noteworthy. While the three Sinfonias are compact, running about 8 minutes, the two harpsichord concertos are large, running about 20 minutes, and the second movement is especially long, expressing a complex emotion. The second movement is particularly long and expresses complex emotions. The performance by the Cologne Academy led by Willens was magnificent. The harpsichord concerto with Volkstaede also features a variety of tempos and dynamics, beautifully expressing the exhilaration of the fast movement and the lyricism of the slow movement.
