[In honor of the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral, the last recording of the great organ before the fire is now available again in a new guise! The fire at Notre Dame de Paris on April 15, 2019, shocked France and the world. Five years later, the cathedral has been successfully restored thanks to the efforts of many people involved, and is scheduled to reopen for Mass on December 8, 2024. To commemorate this event, Olivier Latry, the cathedral's organist, reissued the album with a new binding and title, recorded in January 2019 as his debut for the La Dolce Volta label and the last organ recording before the fire. Originally titled "Bach to the future," the album was a collection of Bach's masterpieces, with the English-speaking pronunciation of Bach (Bach) "back" being a reference to the popular science fiction film, but this time it has been twisted further with a new This time, the album has a new title that can be taken as "Return to Notre Dame" or "Bach for Notre Dame.Ratley, who has been the organist of this cathedral for nearly 40 years, makes full use of the large Cavaillé-Coll organ, which has made its functions and characteristics its own, and we can enjoy everything from delicate expression to dynamic and majestic sounds to the rare stop Chimes tone. *Naxos Japan re-releases LDV69 in a new binding with Japanese commentary.
