Description:
Chopin concertos by Margarita Heyenleider. The first concerto has already been released on CD (SM400), and now the second concerto, which is also being released for the first time, is also available as a double LP set. This album is the result of her deep understanding of Chopin's music. For many years she had been searching for an instrument to play Chopin's music, and based on Chopin's words in 1831 that "the Pleyel piano is the finest," she has researched the Pleyel, which was made in Paris around 1848, from Christoph Kern's instrument collection, using historical documents and methods. The instrument was professionally refurbished using materials and techniques from Christophe Kern's collection of instruments. The instrument is identical in construction to the one owned by Chopin, and has both a powerful sound and a French elegance that allows the orchestra to balance its volume while accommodating the orchestra's modern pitch (440 Hz). She also pays close attention to touch, incorporating the fingerings she inherited from Chopin's pupil, Carole Mikulis.The first piece is accompanied by the Orchestre de la Scintilla conducted by Riccardo Minaj, and the second by the Wiener Akademieorchester conducted by Martin Haselbeck.
