Description:

A mellow, beautiful sound! English music at the end of the Renaissance, which was becoming influenced by Italian music, and the existence of important music collections such as "Fitzwilliam's Virginal Book" and "Persian" as it sounded at that time, England was an important center of keyboard music development from the Elizabethan era in the 16th century to the early 17th century The "Elizabethan" period of the 16th century through the early 17th century was an important center for the development of keyboard music. Unlike its contemporaries in Italy and parts of the German-speaking world, English music of this period is characterized by a Renaissance style that was maintained well into the 17th century without much influence from the Baroque style, but as the study of music history progresses, various aspects of English music of this period, such as the Dowland exchange and the visit of Ferrabosco I to England, will be discovered. However, as the study of music history progressed, it became clear that various influences from Italian music could be seen in British music of this period, such as the exchange of Dowland and the arrival of Ferrabosco I in England. In this album, Giulia Nuti, a master of the new generation of Italian classical music who has already released several albums on Arcana, presents a collection of late 16th-century Italian virginals (a type of small tabletop harpsichord, known in Italy as a spinet or alpicordo) found in the ceiling of the Palazzo Lucellai in Florence. It was called a spinet or alpicordo in Italy), a rare original instrument. It is known that Queen Elizabeth I owned an Italian keyboard instrument at that time, and we can enjoy the sound of the instrument as it was at that time, which English people must have enjoyed to their heart's content on a fine instrument from the tropics. The sound of the harpsichord is not sharply angled, as is often the case with Italian harpsichords, but rather rich and mellow, with richness in each note. This is a piece to recall the exchange between the North and South over the past 400 years. Naxos Japan
