Olivier Fortin and his virtuoso players reveal the original state of the orchestral suites. The ensemble, which has become well known in Japan through performances in Japan, is renowned for its performances that reveal the true nature of the works by utilizing the high level of skill and musicality of each member and the intimate communication of the extremely small ensemble. Here, too, they recorded Bach's masterpiece, Suite for Orchestra, with one player in each part, but they also recreated the original form of the piece as it is known today, with strings and oboe as the main instruments. The most characteristic of these is Suite No. 2, in which the flute usually plays solo, but the oboe takes over the solo part after the key is lowered a whole tone to A minor. The "Badinelli," which is an important flute repertoire piece, is also performed by the oboe, of course. In addition, the brilliant No. 3, which usually includes trumpet and timpani, is played by strings only, while the No. 4 is also performed by three oboes.It is interesting to note that the form of each piece is the one that Bach would have originally envisioned, but the album is interesting first of all for its completely different sound from the usual.
