The soul-jazz trio featuring drum god Steve Gadd has released a long-awaited new album! Eric Clapton, Chick Corea, Stevie Wonder... Steve Gadd (1945- ), the "God of Drums," is so famous for having supported such renowned artists as Steely Dan, Eric Clapton, Chick Corea, Stevie Wonder, and many others. For the past 10 years, he has been focusing on a soul-jazz project with a bass-less trio of two Danish musicians, saxophonist Mikael Britcher and organist Dan Hemmer. The trio was formed about 11 years ago and has released three albums to date, proving their musicality despite the age difference between parent and child and the distance of over 3,000 miles between the U.S. and Denmark.Their fame in Japan is growing, as their 2019 album "Get That Motor Runnin" has been released in Japan on the AGATE SilhouetteSeries label. Their music can be simply described as "bluesy, swinging, soulful jazz played by outstanding musicians. The production of this album started just before the Corona Disaster began, but was interrupted by a lockdown after the first song was recorded. After that, we worked on the songs online and planned how we would finish them. The result is a collection of glowing live tracks recorded around Europe and two special "lockdown songs" recorded in Copenhagen shortly after the world reopened from Corona. The highlight of this album is a "mature" performance with a soulful feeling created by the saxophone and organ. Gad's drumming, which has become even more mature, is also a must-see.The album is mastered using the latest audio technology, MQA (Master Quality Authenticated), and can be enjoyed in the best possible sound quality, making it a sound that can be recommended to audiophiles who are particular about sound quality.
