Dominic Drouin, a keyboardist/singer/songwriter who would later be featured on several Gipsy Kings albums, has reissued his first album from the beginning of his career! The album is full of folky sounds reminiscent of Donovan and Nick Drake, light, retro, and floating! Dominique Drouin is a French keyboardist/singer/songwriter who worked as a soloist and in a band in the 70's. Since the 80's he has mainly worked as a studio musician for many major artists. In the late 80's, Dominic was a member of the Gipsy Kings recording and live band. Dominic's first album "Wave On", which he left in 1972 for the avant-garde Parisian label "Le ciocque d'orphe", is now being reissued. The guitar melodies flow as clear as a babbling brook, the mournful flute tones create an acidic mood, and simple songs dance on top of the simple ensemble.The long title track M(5), which turns into a rock song in the second half, M(2)(7), which was picked up by the French Folk feature in "NTS", M(10), which seems to be a tribute to John Renbourn (Pentangle), and others, all of which remind us of Donovan, Bert Jansch and Nick Drake. The album is full of folky sounds in a high quality British manner reminiscent of Donovan, Bert Jansch, Nick Drake, and others. Released by Sommor, a Spanish label that has reissued albums by Oberon, Claude Lombard, Pig Rider, and others. English commentary and Japanese bilingual translation are included.
