Fresh off the heels of a successful Japan tour, Stones Throw is proud to announce the release of a new album from the French indie pop duo Pearl & Oysters! Pearl & Oysters, a synth-pop/dream-pop sound heavily influenced by Japanese music, culture, and instruments, is releasing their new album "Coast to Coast"! Juju and Jojo met in Paris when they were in high school and started collaborating after hitting it off with each other over their taste in music and pop culture. They moved to Florida in 2015 to experience the local DIY scene and other aspects of the music scene. In 2022, they signed with Stones Throw and released singles such as "Pacific Ave," "Konami," and "Paraiso. The band has become popular for its sound, which is sprinkled with the warm psychedelia of Stereolab, but also continues the lineage of royal pop music by Benny Sings and Jerry Peiper.Their new album, Coast 2 Coast, features guest vocals from Leticia Sadiei of Stereolab, and guitar from Alex Brettin of Mild High Club, among others. The duo says they were influenced by Japanese bands such as YMO and Cornelius, and their love for Japan is evident not only in the Japan-friendly und featuring omnichord and other instruments, but also in the music video for the preceding single and the song title "Konami". Here comes an album that is sure to stick with fans of a wide range of genres and ages in Japan!
