It all started with the ramblings of this man, Hiroto Komoto. Hiroto Komoto once took on the production of a radio show for free just so he could air the songs he truly wanted to play. Inspired by this act of true grit, we at All Days Records decided to focus exclusively on the roots of rock—the origins of the era when Japanese rock was at its absolute peak. We’ve curated a selection centered on three bands that dominated the ’80s, opening with the roots of The Roosters. Track 3 features the very song in question—a track by John Meek’s right-hand man that even Otaki-san fans would sit up and take notice of. The tracklist continues with songs related to The Blue Hearts and also touches on RC Succession, another band that colored the ’80s. The middle section touches on the essence of The Mods, and Track 14 features the appearance of The Rockers, led by Takanori Jinnai. Alongside the return of The Roosters and The Blue Hearts, Track 24 is the song that inspired the name of the band Zunou Keisatsu. The encore, while not directly related, signals the end of a story. The journey leading up to that moment vividly brings to life the path to the classic song “Linda Linda.” *This work is not the original work of the individual musicians.
