This is a masterpiece recorded in 1976 by Paul Weinel, a pianist from Timisoara, a provincial city in Romania, and now available on silver disc. It is a melancholy jazz piece performed by a piano trio formation with his piano at its core, but the occasional flute and oboe tinged with sadness are also wonderful. All of the pieces on this album are his original compositions, and all of them have wonderful melodies with unique melancholy, but the composition of beautiful ballads and speedy tunes coexist without any sense of discomfort. The best song here is "Cautari," which has a melody that will make you cry, and you may have already heard it many times before, as it was boldly sampled in Nujabes' "Spiral. The elegant "Colinda H" and "Spirale," with their familiar phrases, are also great songs that demonstrate the artist's sense of melody that seeps into the heart.The exotic "Colinda P" (sampled by Jazzanova), the high-speed "Blues_ul Trenului" and "Reportajul Timpului" are also full of elegance, and the entire album is filled with overwhelming quality and emotion. Before we talk about the sampling source, this is a masterpiece with beautiful melodies and a deep worldview that will continue to move you even after repeated listenings, making it a masterpiece.
