Keisuke Tsushima and Jean-Michel Kim formed their duo in 2011 while at the Conservatoire de Paris and began their career together, winning the best contemporary piece at the International Chamber Music Competition of Lyon in 2014 and the overall Grand Prix at the Romanian International Music Competition in Tokyo in 2016. During this time, the duo performed in a solo exhibition of their teacher, composer Eisuke Tsuchida, in 2013 and gave a recital at the Great Hall of the Philharmonie in Paris in 2015, as well as touring throughout France and in Belgium. This is a live recital from February of this year, and the entire recording is full of anthemic fullness, with exquisite duo-like breathing and breath; this is the debut recording of this duo, which has received performance support from a prestigious French foundation since 2016, and has proved its honor in a spectacular way.
