The 29th release on the luxury Berlin label "bastille musique" features the great German contemporary musician Helmut Lachenmann! Featuring the multinational ensembles Trio Catch and Trio Recherche, as well as the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne (West German Radio Symphony Orchestra), which is a familiar face on bastille musique, the album includes "Notturno" composed in the 60s and "Allegro Sostenuto" in the 80s, The world premiere recording of "String Trio No. 2, My Farewell," composed in 2021-2022, brings together outstanding works from three different creative periods. Helmut Lachenmann, who studied with Stockhausen, Luigi Nono, and others, was also influenced by Japanese culture through his remarriage to Japanese pianist Sachiko Sugawara, who served on the jury for the Toru Takemitsu Composition Prize in 2009 and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the German Music Writers' Prize in 2015.Unique "bastille musique" luxury box with commentary by Harry Forkert & Rainer Peters, a booklet with an interview with Helmut Lachenmann, and two fold-out inserts with photos of the composers and performers The box is in the unique "bastille musique" style.
