A young virtuoso from Germany! The debut album by Benjamin Kruytov, a young virtuoso from Germany, was released in 1999. Raised by violinist parents, Kruytov began studying violin at the age of 4 and cello at 5, playing solo with an orchestra at the age of 12. After that experience, Kruytov decided to further his career as a cellist, studying with Katharina DeSerno and Maria Kriegel at the Cologne University of Music and with Jens Peter Mainz at the Berlin University of the Arts. She has won top prizes in numerous competitions, including the Leopold Beran International Competition (first prize and special jury prize) and the Competition for Young Soloists in Luxembourg (first prize and Sachem Prize). This album, entitled "Russian Moods," features a wide range of works, from the technical to the poetic, by leading Russian composers such as Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff, as well as Davidov, who is also known as the "king of cello.
