Cambini had a tumultuous life, including being attacked by pirates and enslaved. Unique coupling with an arrangement of Mozart's "The Magic Flute"! Giuseppe Maria Gioacchino Cambini (1746-1825), an Italian composer and violinist of the 18th and 19th centuries, was attacked by pirates while traveling in Africa and spent several years as a slave. This unique program combines the Duo Concertante, the world premiere recording by Giuseppe Maria Gioacchino Cambini (1746-1825) after his move to Paris, and a viola duet version of Mozart's The Magic Flute, which was performed in 1792 and whose arranger is unknown. Although his talent blossomed in Paris, his popularity plummeted after the French Revolution. The music of Cambini, who is said to have spent the remainder of his life in ill-favor, is further enhanced by alternating with an arrangement of an aria from Mozart's "The Magic Flute. Stefano Zambini, who studied with Nobuko Imai at the Detmold University of Music and with Hans Kohlhase at the Nuremberg University of Music, and the German female violist Hildegarde Kuen are an exquisite ensemble.Incidentally, the instruments used are period instruments and the pitch is 432 Hz, also known as the "Verdi pitch.
