She is one of the most important artists in the history of rock music. She will release a solo album of covers of Bob Dylan's songs. STANDING IN THE DOORWAY: CHRISSIE HYNDE SINGS BOB DYLAN" is an album of Bob Dylan songs that she recorded last year with her Pretenders bandmate James Walbourne. The impetus came when James sent Chrissy a copy of "Murder Most Foul," Dylan's 17-minute masterpiece from 2020, during the lockdown caused by the spread of the new coronavirus. Chrissy says, "Everything changed so much for me when I heard this song," and continues.The recording was done remotely, as James was in the middle of a lockdown. The album was mostly done via text message exchanges, with James sending ideas to his iPhone, Chrissy adding vocals, and then sending the exchanges to producer Chad Blake to be mixed down into a single song. The songs "You're a Big Girl Now," "Love Minus Zero/No Limit," "Don't Fall Apart On Me Tonight," and "Every Grain of Sand" are now available to fans with new interpretations and sounds from Chrissie Hynde. Dylan songs such as "No Limit," "Don't Fall Apart On Me Tonight," and "Every Grain of Sand" were brought to fans with new interpretations and sounds by Chrissie Hind.
