Solomun—a Bosnian-born, Hamburg-raised house DJ and producer who is often called one of the hardest DJs to book and has electrified festivals and dance floors not only in Europe but around the world—is releasing a new album. *NOBODYISNOTLOVED* marks his first solo album under his own name in approximately 11 years. While his 2009 debut album, *DANCEBABY*, was produced almost entirely by him alone, this new album is a dazzling collection featuring collaborations with numerous guests, including Jamie Foxx, who opens the album, as well as Zoot Woman, Anne Clark, Planningtorock, ATNATwice, among others. Although it’s his first new album in about 11 years, in the intervening period, Solomun has produced over 50 remixes for artists ranging from Depeche Mode to Leonard Cohen, Jon Hopkins, Jamiroquai, Interpol, Editors, Foals, Lana Del Rey, and many others; performed at festivals like Coachella and Tomorrowland; headlined his own shows; and even held a residency at Pacha, a club in Ibiza, Spain—remaining actively involved in the music scene. Solomon, who won Mixmag’s DJ of the Year award and whose Boiler Room DJ set became the most-streamed DJ set in history, reflects in this new album all the musical influences he has absorbed from his roots as an underground DJ to the present day. While his sound has always had a “melodic” quality, by freeing himself from the constraints of creating “club-oriented music” for this release, he is now pursuing a sound that is truly “worth listening to.” As a result, he has fused various elements—from indie electro to synth-pop, and from new wave to post-punk—into his house and club sound. This album showcases the musical depth of this veteran DJ—it’s sure to delight not only fans who have danced and gotten hyped to Solomon’s music in the past, but also post-punk fans ranging from Daft Punk and the Chemical Brothers to James Blake.
