The group was led by French flutist Bernard Wystraete (fl), who is closely related to Egberto Gismonti, and included Andre Ceccarelli, a drummer who has been supporting the French jazz scene from the 70's to the present. This is the first reissue of the only album by the French jazz rock/jazz funk group from 1970! This is a limited analog edition. The leader Bernard was strongly influenced by progressive rock and Brazilian music/jazz of the same era such as APHRODITE'S CHILD/JETHRO TULL, and the mellow and flexible arrangements with lyrical flute, violin and keyboard instruments give the impression of European production. The group's characteristic sound is characterized by the mellow and supple arrangements of lyrical flutes, violins, and keyboard instruments that give the impression of a European product, and the bossa nova/Latin flavor that can be heard throughout, as exemplified by "Climat".The druggy album cover and the way the songs incorporate rough ad-libs by each member give off a psychedelic flavor that is unique to this era, and the style of the two bands mentioned above is not a stylish crossover style. It is a unique style that seems to have been created while exploring the process of development from psychedelic to jazz-rock, rather than the stylish crossover style of the two bands mentioned above. On the other hand, "Episodes" has a progressive R.I.O. style with eccentric female scatting, which is similar to the later COS, ZAO, and MAHAGON. All in all, this is a gem with foresight that seems to have anticipated the later trends of psychedelic, jazz rock, and crossover music!
