Description:

The Salzburg Wind Philharmonic, one of Europe's leading wind ensembles, and its chief conductor Hansjörg Angeler present the highly acclaimed "Kaiserkonzert 2024" live at the Salzburg Festival Grand Théâtre. This remarkable DVD brings together two of the most famous Strausses in music history (Johann Strauss II and Richard Strauss) in an original program. The first half of the concert, based on the concept of "From the Mountains," features hunting music and marches by Johann Strauss II and other composers of his time, with themes of rural romanticism and hunting scenes. The group's clear and sublime sound vividly depicts the breath of nature and its scenes. In the second half, the orchestra will perform Richard Strauss's large-scale "Alpine Symphony," a visual work that combines sight and sound. The audience will experience a completely new sound of this music, which depicts a magnificent journey from the ascent to the descent of a mountain, in the realistic atmosphere of a visual work that combines sight and sound. The Salzburg Wind Philharmonic, founded in 2002 by Hansjörg Angeler, is one of Europe's leading professional wind ensembles. The Mozarteum Orchestra and the Salzburg State Theater Orchestra, as well as the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic, and other world-class orchestras, are members of this international ensemble, which has long been led by concertmaster Wenzel Fuchs, principal clarinetist of the Berlin Philharmonic. Wenzel Fuchs, Principal Clarinet of the Berlin Philharmonic, has served as concertmaster for many years. The ensemble is known for its pursuit of excellence in the art of wind music while maintaining the traditions of Vienna-Salzburg, and has won high acclaim in Europe and elsewhere. The repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary music, and the group has released numerous CDs and DVDs. Their annual "Kougen Festival Concert" is broadcast live on television and is highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad. In this DVD, you can fully enjoy the group's precise ensemble, rich tone, and careful music-making by Angela with the intensity that only a live performance can provide. Tokyo M-Plus
