Bach's Organ Masterpieces by the Master André Izoard LA DOLCE VOLTA re-released by LA DOLCE VOLTA is a collection of Bach's organ works from the CALLIOPE period by Izoard. This disc contains Bach's organ masterpieces, including the Toccata and Fugue, all in one disc. The disc, with Japanese commentary, comes with the LA DOLCE VOLTA catalog. Izoard was born in France. He studied organ under Edouard Souberbiel and piano under Germaine Meunier at the Cesar Franck School of Music, and won the first prize at the St. Albans International Organ Competition (England) in 1965 and the Haarlem International Organ Competition for three consecutive years in 1966, 1967 and 1968. In 1966, 1967, and 1968, he won the first prize at the St. Albans International Organ Competition (England), and three years in a row at the Haarlem International Organ Competition (Netherlands).Izoard's excellent playing is also supported by his deep knowledge of organ building, and he always displays an outstanding sense not only of playing technique but also of stop operation.
