Diapason, a French magazine specializing in world-class classical music, selects and reissues newly mastered masterpieces of historical masterpieces from the history of music in the series "Les Indispensables de Diapason - Diapason's Choice of the Definitive Editions". Volume 176 of the series reissues the famous Chopin recordings from 1960 and 1947 by Claudio Arrau, one of the most famous piano masters of the 20th century. Claudio Arrau, a renowned pianist from Chile in South America, studied at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin under Martin Krause, Liszt's last pupil, and achieved great success at his debut in Berlin in 1914, and since then he has performed with great conductors including Nikisch, Mengelberg, and Furtwängler. After his Carnegie Hall debut in 1941, he moved to the U.S., and after World War II, he performed in North and South America, Eastern and Western Europe, Asia, and the rest of the world. After World War II, he performed internationally in North and South America, Eastern and Western Europe, and Asia.He was active in concert and recording activities until two years before his death in 1991 at the age of 88. This album includes Chopin's "Two Ballades" and "24 Preludes," recorded in 1960, and an early Arau recording with the Little Orchestra Society, founded by Thomas Sherman, an American conductor who studied with Otto Klemperer, entitled " Andante Spianato and the Splendid Grande Polonaise" are coupled.
