Rock band from Leeds, UK = The Wedding Present CD and vinyl release of 24 songs to commemorate the 30th anniversary of "The Hit Parade", a monthly 7" vinyl release project in 1992. The Wedding Present was formed in 1985 in Leeds, a town in central England.The band consists of David Gedge (vo, songwriter), Peter Soroka (g), Keith Gregory (b), and Sean Chairman (ds), who is the main vocalist and writes all the songs. The Hit Parade" series, an unprecedented project to release a new 7" analog vinyl of an original song on the A-side and a cover song on the B-side every month throughout the year.All 12 of the albums released ranked in the Top 30 of the UK Singles Chart, tying the record held by Elvis Presley at the time for the highest number of singles ranked in a single year. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of "The Hit Parade" series, a total of 24 songs from the 12 7-inch analog titles will be released on CD and analog vinyl.The jacket artwork is a collage of the original 12 jacket titles.
