NIGHT DEMON is an authentic metal band from Southern California, and their album "Year Of The Demon" is a compilation of their 5 7" singles released in 2020. Since their formation in 2011, NIGHT DEMON has made their presence felt as a band that plays traditional heavy metal with its origins in NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal). Although their plans for a major tour were cancelled due to a pandemic, like many other bands, their passion for their music has never been more fiery. They released five 7" singles in the spring and summer of 2020. The singles, which included original new material, covers, and previously unreleased live recordings, sold out instantly and kept fans in the loop during lockdown. For those fans who missed out on the chance to get their hands on the singles, the compilation of all the material has been compiled into "Year Of The Demon". The compilation of the singles is very dense, with two of NIGHT DEMON's fastest and most intense songs, "Empires Fall" and "Vysteria", and "Kill the Pain", which is the most powerful song on the album, and "The Lost", which is the most powerful song on the album. Kill the Pain" also leaves a lasting impact by making its signature sound more powerful and weaving in deeply personal messages. And "Are You Out There" is a tribute to the late Phil Lynott of THIN LIZZY. Cover songs include "Fast Bikes" by LeGriffe, an obscure NWOBHM band from the 80s, "100mph," a classic by CIRITH UNGOL (featuring Tim Baker of CIRITH UNGOL), and THIN LIZZY's melancholy anthem "The Sun Goes Down," a melancholy paean to THIN LIZZY, and more. The final live recording captures NIGHT DEMON's most unforgettable moments on stage.The cover of IRON MAIDEN's "Wasted Years" is an unreleased song recorded in Cleveland, Ohio on the same night as "Live Darkness". Two more SCORPIONS classics ("In Trance" and "Top of the Bill") were recorded live in Germany with special guest Uli Jon Roth (ex-Scorpions). The title of the album, "Year of the Demon," captures the unprecedented year of 2020 for NIGHT DEMON and for our lives. NIGHT DEMON has also responded to the fans' desire for a new album by announcing that they will release their next studio album on November 4, 2022.
