Swedish melodic death metal band AVATAR's "Hunter Gatherer" is a game-changer on the eve of their worldwide breakthrough. Lost Soul was formed in Gothenburg, Sweden in 2001 by drummer John Alfredsson and guitarist Jonas Jarlsby. Their debut album, "Thoughts of No Tomorrow" (2006), quickly reached No. 47 on the Swedish charts. In the 2010s, the band began a vigorous touring schedule with an eye on the U.S. market. The results soon became apparent, with their fifth album, "Hail the Apocalypse" (2014), reaching #97 on the US album chart, and their sixth, "Feathers & Flesh" (2016), reaching #88 on the same chart. Furthermore, their last album, "Avatar Country," released in January 2018, reached #2 on the U.S. Independent Albums chart (and #132 on the Albums chart). The eighth album "Hunter Gatherer", which is finally released amidst high expectations from around the world, employs Jay Ruston, who has worked with STONE SOUR and ANTHRAX, as in the previous album. This time, the band was thoroughly involved in the performance in order to reflect the vividness of the stage in their work. In addition, analog recording was done using 2-inch tapes. It should also be noted that Corey Taylor (SLIPKNOT, STONE SOUR) guested on "Colossus" and co-wrote "Wormwole" with Jay. This album is an extension of "Feathers & Flesh" and "Avatar Country," but the appeal of the individual songs is condensed rather than the overall story of the previous album, which was a concept album depicting the glory and decline of the kingdom of AVATAR. A Secret Door," a six-minute epic that has the strongest impact of all the songs on the album, boasts a brilliant song structure that makes the listener listen to the entire song at once despite its length. The song is a reliable work that shows the further evolution of vocalist Johannes Eckerstrom, who uses growls and cleans in the right places and at the right time. AVATAR's elaborate makeup and costumes on stage have been attracting a lot of attention.Hunter Gatherer" will be released in the "music continent" of the U.S., where it could break out at any time!
