The Best of the '68 Comeback Special" will be released in conjunction with the airing of "Elvis All-Star Tribute," an NBC special celebrating the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley's legendary '68 Comeback Special TV show. Elvis All-Star Tribute," an NBC special celebrating the 50th anniversary of Elvis Presley's legendary '68 Comeback Special TV show, will air on NBC TV in the United States on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at 9 p.m. (US East Coast time). Hosted by Blake Shelton, the all-star tribute is produced by NBC and Ken Erlich of AEG Erlich Ventures in honor of the 50th anniversary of the "'68 Comeback Special," which aired on NBC TV on December 3, 1968. The two-hour special will feature performances of the songs, as well as a special tribute to Elvis Presley and his band. In addition to performances of the songs, the two-hour special will also feature rare footage of Elvis and interviews with those involved in the special, including Priscilla Presley and director Steve Binder.To coincide with the airing, a compilation of Elvis' music, "The Best of the '68 Comeback Special," will be released. Ideal for longtime Elvis fans and newcomers alike, "Best of the '68 Comeback Special" is comprised of Elvis' own material and performances, including a new version of the legendary closing song "If I Can Dream" (Wish for Tomorrow). The album also includes a new version of the legendary closing song "If I Can Dream" (Wish for Tomorrow). The album will feature 15 of Elvis' performances from the "Standup" and "Sit Down" shows recorded for the 1968 telecast, as well as three original studio recordings representing songs from the new specials. When it aired on December 3, 1968, the special became the highest-rated television program of the week, reaffirming Elvis' position as a driving force in popular music.
