Description:

The 10th in the RCO's Horizon series, a series of works that captures the coronary disaster, performed by some of the best conductors of our time, including Bishkov, Luisi, Zweden, Jimeno, and Lotto. ~The number of concerts in 2020-2021 has been drastically reduced due to the pandemic of the new coronavirus. Despite this, the premieres of commissioned works continued, with contemporary music playing an important role as a "mirror of the times. This three-CD album is not only the tenth in the Concertgebouw Orchestra's Horizon Series, which aims to nurture and promote young contemporary composers, but it is also a monumental testimony to contemporary society. German composer Detlef Granath was the resident composer of the Concertgebouw Orchestra from 2011 to 2017. Weites Land (Faraway Land), performed under the direction of Semyon Bishkov, was written in 2013.Subtitled "Musik mit Brahms," the work is reminiscent of the symphonies of Brahms, the great composer from his native Hamburg, and includes a new work by Rick van Werzhausen from a performance with Fabio Luisi in May 2021 as a non-participant concert, " mais le corps tache d'ombres" is included. This work was originally inspired by Mahler's Symphony No. 9 and was supposed to be performed with Mahler's Symphony No. 9, but due to the corona, this was not possible, and the work was premiered with Mahler's Symphony No. 5 and a song in honor of his late son. The title was taken from the French writer Jean Genet's long poem "The Condemned". And the 2020/21 concert season, like all orchestras around the world, had to operate under a whole new set of standards. Performers were to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters from the stage, and the number of audience members was strictly limited. In the spring of 2020, Jacob ter Verduy (Jacob TV) was asked to compose a piece of music. Dutch "avant-pop" composer Jacob TV (1951-) started his career as a rock musician. He studied composition and electronic music and won a Dutch composition competition in 1980. He is currently one of the most active composers in Europe. His orchestral work "Who, What, Where, When, Why? The brass instruments on the left and right sound clear and beautiful. And the work is conducted by François-Xavier Lhote, who gives exciting performances of works from any period. King International
