The Vaselines, a band that defined the Scottish indie scene at the time and was admired by many, including Kurt Cobain. This compilation of their early material has been remastered/refreshed and released. [Remastered version] The Vaselines have long been admired by musicians and music fans across genres and countries. This includes Kurt Cobain, who was an ardent fan of the band. They formed in the mid-80s and released their debut single on Stephen McRobbie's label of The Pastels. The remastered reissue of "The Way of the Vaselines" on Sub Pop will be a welcome addition to those already familiar with this Scottish band's brief career. For those already familiar with this Scottish band's brief career, it is an opportunity to delve deeper into their body of work, and for those new to their music, it is an opportunity to see firsthand why so many people hold them in such high regard.Originally mastered from cassette tapes (and later remastered with better equipment in the new century), the album is a compilation of the band's two EPs ("Son of a Gun" and "Dying for It") and their only LP, "Dum-Dum", and contains their early material from the 1980s and 1990s. Originally released on CD only in 1992, this is the first vinyl release.
