Description:
This is the debut recording of the Leonore Piano Trio, a trio of members of Ensemble 360, a chamber music ensemble formed by a group of young British elites. The cellist is Gemma Rosefield, who was the soloist in the Romantic Cello Concerto Vol. 3, Stanford (CDA67859). Two of Arensky's best-known piano trios are coupled with a piano trio version of Rachmaninoff's famous "Vocalise," for which various arrangements exist. The arranger, Julius (Yuri) Konjus (1869-1942), was a Russian composer who studied under Arensky and had a close friendship with Rachmaninoff. The young ensemble's vigorous performance will bring out the mellow aroma of Russian Romanticism. Tokyo M-Plus
