Description:

Kremer sheds new light on the world of Weinberg, a Jewish Polish composer who lived a turbulent life in exile in the Soviet Union! The World of Weinberg, a Jewish-Polish composer who suffered a harsh fate, Kremer's new recording is a two-disc set of works in a wide variety of genres by Weinberg, a Polish-born composer who lived a turbulent life in exile in the Soviet Union. The Sonatina features piano accompaniment by Daniil Trifonov. Weinberg was a composer who lost his family in the Holocaust and suffered a harsh fate in exile in the Soviet Union. This year marks the 95th anniversary of his birth. He fled to the Soviet Union after the Nazi invasion of Poland, where his remaining family became victims of the Holocaust, and he himself was arrested by Stalin in the postwar Soviet Union. However, in Moscow, Weinberg became friends with Shostakovich, who strongly influenced him, and Shostakovich also highly valued Weinberg's talent, and his works were performed by the best performers in the Soviet Union at the time. This time, Kremer focuses on his works, performing his Cremelata Baltica colleagues in a variety of compositions, from unaccompanied works to orchestral pieces, to explore the appeal of Weinberg's works from various angles, who was a prolific composer. Symphony No. 10, also performed by Kremer on his 2012 tour of Japan, is a large-scale work featuring soloists for violin, viola, and cello. Pianist Daniil Trifonov accompanies him in the Sonatina for Piano and Violin. Universal Music/IMS
