Description:
Pierluigi Villone (1960-), an Italian composer who studied composition under Salvatore Sciarrino and Helmut Lachenmann, composed this trilogy for electric guitar. The continuous slide technique that makes up the bass sonority of "Sgorgo Y" pays homage to the legendary fusion guitarist Alan Holdsworth, who was famous for his unique legato technique. The title "Y" is taken from the guitarist Yaron Deutsch, who also plays on this album. On the other hand, "Sgorgo N" is a different world, with a focus on lower registers to complement the brighter, more voluminous sound of "Y." The "N" is taken from Luigi NONO, who was the inspiration for this piece. The final part, "Sgorgo oO," is the culmination of the trilogy and is composed in a style that is a synthesis of Y and N. The title is taken from Luigi NONO, who was the inspiration for the piece. Yaron Deutsch is a guitarist born in Tel Aviv, Israel, and is the artistic director of Ensemble Nikel, which specializes in contemporary music. Tokyo M-Plus
