This work was produced by Oscar Peterson's wife, Kelly Peterson, and released on her own label (Two Lions Records) in 2015 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Oscar's birth in 1925, MackAvenue will be releasing the album again. The album features a stellar lineup of Oscar Peterson admirers, including Chick Corea, Monty Alexander, Ramsey Lewis, Kenny Barron, Benny Green, Oliver Jones, Makoto Ozone, Linnie Rosnes, and Bill Charlap. In addition, music great Michel Legrand, who celebrated his 85th birthday this year in 2017, also participated on two songs. Meanwhile, young musicians who have been heavily backed by Oscar Peterson, including Gerald Clayton, Justin Kauflin, and Hiromi Uehara, also participate. However, the appeal of this album is not limited to the participation of these splendid musicians. The recording was made at Oscar Peterson's home studio, where the artist played his beloved Bösendorfer Imperial piano. This piano was selected by Oscar himself in 1981, when he visited the Bösendorfer factory. Of course, this is the first time this piano has been used outside of a private setting, and this is also the first time its tone has been made public in this way. In addition, some of the pieces being played are pieces that Oscar himself did not leave as works of art, and many of them are being presented to the public for the first time in the world.It is interesting to note that one of the songs is performed by Michel Legrand. Meanwhile, Chick Corea, Makoto Ozone, Hiromi Uehara, and Robi Botos perform original songs dedicated to Oscar. Each of the artists also expresses his or her feelings toward the great Peterson in his or her own song. Recorded and mixed by Swiss master Blaise Fabre. The fact that artists representing various styles of today's music play the same instrument and are recorded by the same engineer also means that the individuality of the pianist is brought into sharp relief. This work is also of interest to music fans who love the piano instrument as well as jazz. Although Oscar Peterson sadly passed away in 2007, his music, which was bluesy, sophisticated, and lovely, will be played and passed down from generation to generation. This is a new way to enjoy the legacy of a great man who left behind something eternal and immortal in the music of jazz! This work is also dedicated to Norman Granz, who produced/backed up Oscar Peterson's music.
