Andrés Orozco-Estrada was born in Colombia in 1977 and studied conducting in Vienna at the age of 19. He has been the Principal Conductor of the Vienna Tonkünstler Orchestra from 2009 to 2015 and of the hr Symphony Orchestra since 2014. Orozco-Estrada, who wows audiences with his passionate performances, maintains the tradition of the orchestra through careful rehearsals and a deep relationship of trust with the historic hr Symphony Orchestra, while bringing fresh interpretations from the young maestro.This young maestro will breathe new life into the hr Symphony Orchestra, which has won international acclaim under successive chief conductors such as Eliahu Inbal, Dmitri Kitaenko, and Paavo Järvi.
