Description:

Mitsuko Uchida raves about it! Armenian pianist Arghamanyan records concertos by Khachaturian and Proko! Pentatone label's most popular pianist, Nareh Argamanyan, made his Pentatone debut with his stunning technique and dynamic expression in Rachmaninov's Fantastic Pieces, Pictures of Sound and Variations on a Theme by Corelli (PTC5186399), followed by his second album of Liszt's Concertos. The second album, Liszt's Concerto Collection (PTC5186397), followed with a performance of flawless technique and masterful control. The highly anticipated third concerto is a concerto by Khachaturian and Prokofiev! Prokofiev, whose repertoire is as important to Argamanyan as Rachmaninoff and Liszt, is a composer that suits her pianism, and the third concerto in particular is the one that she is most into. The same is true of Khachaturian, and Argamanyan's colorful tone, which is more than just technique, also leaves a favorable impression. The young French conductor Alain Altinoglu and the Rundfunk Symphonieorchester Berlin provide excellent support for Argamanyan's lively and youthful performance. <Born in Vanadzor, Armenia in 1989, Argamanyan began playing the piano at the age of five, and his talent soon blossomed. At the age of 14, she was admitted to the Vienna State University of Music as the youngest student ever, and since then she has had an impressive competition career. His first prize at the 2008 Montreal International Competition was the first step towards becoming a world-class pianist. As a rising star of Armenia, expectations are high for her future career.
